The following are various books and websites that are useful for understanding the current crisis or offer additional insight into Catholicism.
Note: this does not entail that there is 100% overlap between our own beliefs and the authors that will be cited. The particular relevance of each source will be explained below.
To be catechised is to have an understanding of the basic tenants of the Catholic faith. Written in a time when heresy was being vigorously denounced, The Catechism of the Council of Trent can be regarded as one of the ‘stronger’ catechisms and can be regarded as one of essential resource for understanding what the Catholic faith is.
(The Baltimore Catechism is also recommended)
This website is a veritable archive of information and arguments in favour of the Sedevacantist position. Their website covers everything, including:
- Key arguments
- Magesterial documents
- Examinations of each anti-Pope since Vatican II
- Refutations of the so-called “resistance” such as the Society of St. Pius X
This organisation also has a Sedevacantist podcast called Tradcast.
This website is very similar to Novus Ordo Watch in that it contains a lot of information, arguments and sources pertaining to the current crisis.
It must be noted that we do not share their view on the question of Baptism of Desire (the reasons for which can be found here), nor do we share their level of certainty about being within the end-times (however, the possibility of this cannot be and has not been rejected).
Nevertheless, this organisation is very good at presenting arguments against Vatican II and other heresies such as ‘Recognise and Resist’ and Protestantism. Many of their arguments and debates can also be found on their YouTube channel.
Another book by Rodney Stark. In Bearing False Witness he goes through and debunks many of the lies and myths that have been perpetrated about Catholic history and the abuses of the Catholic Church. This is a good correction for years of misinformation or outright propaganda that has been promulgated against The Church.
